Which attractions should not missed in Italy

To experience scenic wonders, great art and architecture, music, food and Italian wine, pack your suitcases and head to Italy. The country is the home to great many World Heritage Sites. Besides sightseeing Italy is known for its cuisine, beautiful coastline, mountains and lakes such as Lake Garda and it is also one of the centers of fashion. Just think about Gucci or Versace to mention a few.

There are quite a lot of tourist attractions in the country and a visit to is sure to be full of art and cultural sites, monuments, beautiful cities. Among the most popular Italy attractions, there are amazing buildings, museums and galleries with excellent collections of artifacts. Besides sightseeing Italy is known for its excellent wines for instance Chianti and kitchen. Everyone has tasted pastas and pizzas to mention a few. To start getting to know Italy everybody should start with such wonderful cities as Rome, Venice, Florence, Naples. But if you are more fond of adventures and sports, Italy has got some excellent ski resorts in scenic Dolomite mountains. The hundred kilometer long coastlines with beaches are for those who love to spending time on the beach. Furthermore, there are ideal places for walking and cycling holidays.

As I have mentioned you should definitely start with the capital, Rome. Rome has got several well-known tourist attractions. Rome is full of history with spectacular ancient monuments located here, including the Vatican City, the Forum, Circus Maximus. The Vatican Cityhas many spectacular buildings and churches to visit. Its most popular tourist attraction is the Sistine Chapel, with a vast ceiling that was painted by Michelangelo in 1508

You next stop should be Venice. Most of the top attractions are easily within walking distance and it is the best way to discover such places as St. Mark's Square, St. Marks Basilica, The Doges Palace. Away from the main attractions, Venice is characterized by narrow canals, small squares. The city of Venice was founded more than 1,500 years ago on 117 different islands. The city centre of Venice is divided into six quarters - Cannaregio, Castello, Dorsoduro, San Marco, San Polo and Santa Croce. All buildings in Venice are supported on slender oak and pine posts.

After Venice visit Florence whichis the capital city of the Tuscany. Florence is an open sky museum full of beautiful, Renaissance-style buildings, including wonderful churches and enormous palaces which have not changed since the 16th century. You can discover history and art through Piazza Duomo, Piazza della Signoria, Renaissance palaces. One of the finest museums is The Uffizi Gallery in Florence including masterpieces such as Botticelli’s Birth Of Venus, Caravaggio’s Young Bacchus, Leonardo da Vinci’s Annunciation, Michelangelo’s Holy Family.

Not far apart Siena and Pisa is located in western Tuscany and it is home to the world-famous leaning tower. It has been closed to the public since 1990, the tower has now reopened following a long restoration project to reduce its tilt. The bell tower stands next to the elegant 11th-century Gothic Cathedral and the Baptistery.

The commercial metropolis of Milan is the next top destination which is one of the largest cities on the north of Italy. It is home to many important business centres, financial institutions and the Italian stock market. Milan is also known for its leading high fashion and design excellence with such famous Italian brands as Versace, Gucci.

And finally, Naples. It is capital of Campania founded by Greeks and later enlarged by Romans. To one side of Naples you can find Mount Vesuvius, and to the other side the pretty islands of Capri, Ischia. Pompeii and Herculaneum, the cities destroyed by Vesuvius when it erupted are full of some of the most interesting Roman ruins in Italy. It is famous for its pizza as this delicacy was invented in the city.
